About

Welcome to the online home of Melton Mowbray United Reformed Church with Freeby. We know that is a long name so we tend to be “The URC” when we talk to others in the town or “Melton Mowbray URC” otherwise.

As you will see if you go to our History page we have been part of this town for over 200 years.  We are proud of our history but that does not mean we look to the past, we are very much involved in the present and looking to the future.

As a church we are committed to building a loving fellowship, led by the Holy Spirit, so we can serve Jesus in Melton and wherever else we are called to follow.

We have a varied style of worship with  traditional hymns and contempory worship songs.

We like to be active, reaching out to others in our town when we can.

Our little chapel at Freeby is famous for its association with Isaac Watts who preached there while a tutor in the area. The chapel is no longer in use and we are in the process of deciding what to do with it.

As a Church we have a strong involvement with Churches Together in Melton.

Please take a look around the website, but the best way to get to know us, is to join with us on a Sunday morning, or at our various midweek activities.
